Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
U.S. stocks showed wild fluctuations over the course of the trading session on Thursday but managed to end the day mostly higher. The major averages all closed in positive territory although the Nasdaq underperformed its counterparts. While the Nasdaq edged up 0.2 percent to 14083 the Dow climbed 0.7 percent to 34060.
U.K. stocks rose on Thursday with dovish comments from the U.S. Federal Reserve and positive company results helping underpin investor sentiment. The benchmark FTSE 100 rose by 0.6 percent to 7007.
Indian shares gave up early gains to end on a flat note Thursday though key benchmark indexes ended in the green for the fourth day running amid the April series derivatives expiry. The benchmark BSE Sensex inched up by 0.1 percent to 49766.
