Volume accumulation

In the world of finance, the On Balance Volume (OBV) indicator is a popular tool used to track the buying and selling pressure of a stock. However, it has its limitations. To address these, Marc Chaikin developed the Volume Accumulation indicator. Unlike OBV, it takes into account the average price of the day and assigns only a percentage of the volume as positive or negative, depending on where the close falls in relation to this average. This means that the entire day's volume is only given a positive or negative value in rare cases when the close matches the day's high or low. This makes Volume Accumulation a more precise and nuanced measure of market activity.
