Despite opening the trading session on a notably higher note, domestic indices later witnessed a significant decline, largely influenced by downturns in the telecommunications, power, utilities, and banking sectors. With the exception of the BSE FMCG Index, which saw shares of HUL soar 5% today, all other sectoral indices were trading lower.

At 11:10 am, the BSE Sensex tumbled 0.52% reaching a level of 73,510. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.53% to the 22,324 level. On the Sensex, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Nestle India and ITC Ltd were among the top gainers, whereas Power Grid Corporation of India, JSW Steel and HCL Technologies were among the market draggers.

  • Marico Ltd

    Shares of Marico Ltd witnessed a 23-fold surge in trading volume, climbing almost 10% to touch an intraday high of Rs 582.75 per share on the BSE. Marico Ltd is one of India’s leading consumer goods companies operating in global beauty and wellness categories. It nurtures leading brands across categories such as hair care, skin care, edible oils, healthy foods, male grooming, and fabric care. Parachute, Saffola, Saffola Oats, Livon Serums, hair & care, and Set Wet are among the well-known brands offered by the company.

  • SignatureGlobal India Ltd

    Shares of SignatureGlobal India Ltd, experiencing heightened trading volume, were trading slightly lower, reaching an intraday low of Rs 1,262 per share on the BSE. SignatureGlobal India Ltd is a real estate development company operating in the Delhi NCR region focused on offering affordable and mid-segment housing.

  • Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd

    Shares of Titagarh Rail Systems soared around 8% today amidst an otherwise subdued market, buoyed by robust buying interest, fuelled by growing optimism following a recent favourable rating by Morgan Stanley. The company is involved in manufacturing and selling freight wagons, passenger coaches, metro trains, train electricals, steel castings, and specialized equipment.
