Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks moved mostly higher over the course of the trading day on Thursday. The techheavy Nasdaq showed a particularly strong upward move. The Dow inched up 0.2 percent to 33504 while the Nasdaq jumped 1 percent to 13829.

UK stocks edged higher on Thursday after minutes of March FOMC meeting reinforced expectations that interest rates will remain low for some time amid continued uncertainty surrounding the economic outlook. The benchmark FTSE 100 gained 0.2 percent to reach 6900.

Indian shares ended well off their days highs on Thursday as investors weighed concerns over the second wave of coronavirus infections in the country against dovish signals from the Federal Reserve. The benchmark BSE Sensex inched up by 0.2 percent to 49746.
