Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stock market showed a substantial recovery attempt over the course of the trading day on Friday. The major averages climbed well off their worst levels of the day but still ended the session in negative territory. The Dow fell by 0.2 percent to 26922 and Nasdaq edged down by 0.1 percent to 8161

U.K. stocks slipped into the red on Friday with mining stocks falling heavily as investors awaited a key U.S. jobs report later in the day and the resumption of trade talks between the U.S. and China next week. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.4 percent to 7577.

On domestic front Indian shares tumbled on Friday as a proposal in the Union Budget to increase the minimum public shareholding from 25 percent to 35 percent sparked fears that it will suck out liquidity from the market. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1.0 percent to 39513.
