Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a lack of direction during trading on Friday after moving sharply higher over the course of the two previous sessions. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line before closing mixed. Dow inched up 0.2 percent to 26403 and the Nasdaq dipped by 0.1 percent to 7963.

The UK stocks market moved higher Monday with shares of multinational companies surging higher after pound sterling tumbled against most major currencies. The FTSE 100 soared by 1.4 percent to 7310.

On domestic front Indian markets were closed on Monday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturti. On Friday shares rose mirroring firm cues from other global markets as Giuseppe Conte returned as Prime Minister to form a new government in Italy and new signs of U.S.China trade talks emerged. The benchmark BSE Sensex increased by 0.7 percent to 37332.
