Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks moved mostly lower during trading on Friday giving back ground following the advance seen in the previous session. The techheavy Nasdaq staged a recovery attempt in morning trading but quickly rejoined the Dow and SP 500 in the red. The major averages all closed firmly in negative territory. The Dow fell by 0.5 percent to 33875 and the Nasdaq plunged by 0.9 percent to 13963.

U.K. stocks rose on Friday amid economic optimism after data showed house prices in the country jumped at the fastest pace in 17 years. The benchmark FTSE 100 went up by 0.3 percent to 6979.

Indian shares succumbed to heavy selling pressure on Friday with banks and financials among the worst hit. The benchmark BSE Sensex nosedived by 2 percent to 48782.
