Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks moved mostly lower over the course of the trading session on Thursday. The downturn on the day extended the pullback seen late in the previous session. The Dow fell 0.5 percent to 26308 and the Nasdaq dipped by 0.2 percent to 8037.

U.K. stocks reversed early losses to turn flat on Thursday after new data showed the U.K.s construction sector saw a marginal expansion in April thanks to a pickup in housebuilding. FTSE 100 was flat at 0.0 percent at 7387.

On domestic front Indian shares fluctuated on Thursday before ending slightly lower dragged down by banks and IT majors. Weak global cues coupled with uncertainty over the outcome of the ongoing general elections weighed on markets. The benchmark BSE Sensex dipped by 0.1 percent to 38981.
