Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks moved mostly lower over the course of the trading day on Tuesday partly offsetting the rally seen in the previous session. The major averages all moved to the downside with the techheavy Nasdaq showing a particularly steep drop. The Dow fell 0.5 percent to 31392 and the Nasdaq tumbled 1.7 percent to 13359.

UK stocks were subdued on Tuesday as weaker commodity prices pulled down miners and energy companies. The benchmark FTSE 100 dropped 0.2 percent to 6577.

Indian shares shrugged off mixed global cues to end notably higher on Tuesday with IT and auto stocks leading the surge. The benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 0.9 per cent to 50297.
