Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks showed a significant turnaround over the course of the last trading session. The major averages showed a notable recovery in afternoon trading climbing into positive territory. The Dow rose by 0.4 per cent to 28859 and the Nasdaq was up by 0.3 percent to 9299.

UK stocks drifted lower on Thursday amid lingering worries about the spread of the new corona virus and ahead of the Bank of England monetary policy decision. The benchmark FTSE 100 fell by 0.4 per cent to 7451.

On domestic front Indian shares fell notably yesterday as risk sentiment remained fragile ahead of a World Health Organization (WHO) emergency committee meeting today to discuss whether the corona virus constitutes a global health emergency. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell steeply by 0.7 percent to 40914.
