Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks saw further upside over the course of the trading day on Friday. The continued upward move on the day lifted the Nasdaq and the SP 500 to new record closing highs. The Dow advanced 0.7 percent to 27930 and the Nasdaq climbed 0.4 percent to 11311.
UK stocks edged lower on Friday as a strong pound weighed on exporters. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.1 percent to 6008.
On domestic front Indian shares closed higher on Friday though markets ended off their days highs amid some profit booking in late afternoon trade. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 0.6 percent to 38434.
