Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks gave back some ground during the trading day on Wednesday following the notable upward move seen in the previous session. The Dow slid by 0.4 percent to 25777 and the Nasdaq fell by 0.5 percent to 7751.

U.K. stocks advanced on Wednesday and the pound extended a negative trend after British Prime Minister Theresa May set out what she called a new Brexit deal for Britains departure from the EU. FTSE 100 inched up by 0.1 percent at 7334.

On domestic front Indian shares ended Wednesdays session modestly higher as investors awaited the results of the sevenphase polls on Thursday. The benchmark BSE Sensex moved up by 0.4 percent to 39110.
