Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks moved mostly higher over the course of the trading day on Thursday after recovering from an initial move to the downside. With the upward move on the day the techheavy Nasdaq reached a new record closing high. The Dow edged up 46.85 points or 0.2 percent to 27739 and the Nasdaq jumped 118.49 points or 1.1 percent to 11264.
UK stocks fell sharply on Thursday as minutes from the Federal Reserves latest meeting signaled considerable concern about the outlook for the U.S. economy. The FTSE 100 was down by 1.2 percent to 6037.
On domestic front Indian shares fell on Thursday to snap three sessions of gains tracking weak global markets. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 1.0 percent to 38220.
