Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
U.S. stocks continue to turn in a strong performance in midday trading on Thursday. With the upward move on the day the Dow and the SP 500 have reached new record intraday highs. The Dow is up 0.9 percent at 26655 and the Nasdaq is up 0.9 percent at 8020.
UK stocks stocks eked out modest gains on Thursday and the pound advanced against all rivals after a government report showed U.K. retail sales grew unexpectedly in August. The FTSE 100 was up 0.2 percent at 7313.
On domestic front Indian stocks Indian markets remain closed today on account of Muharram.
