Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks came under pressure in afternoon trading on Wednesday. The downturn by the major averages came after the Nasdaq and SP 500 hit record intraday highs. The Dow dipped 0.3 percent to 27692 and the Nasdaq slid 0.6 percent to 11146.

UK stocks eked out modest gains on Wednesday as stronger than expected rise in U.K. consumer price inflation failed to lift the pound. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.6 percent to 6111.

On domestic front Indian shares rose for the third straight session on Wednesday though markets ended well off their days highs ahead of the FOMCs last meeting minutes to be released later in the day. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.2 percent to 38614.
