Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks moved mostly lower during the last trading session. The major averages all moved to the downside after ending Wednesdays trading mixed. The Dow Jones dipped by 0.3 percent to 24665 while the Nasdaq ended down by 0.8 percent to 7238.

U.K. shares closed modestly higher on Thursday as a surge in commodity prices helped support mining stocks and the pound dropped after the release of weakerthanexpected retail sales data. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.2% to end at 7329.

On domestic front Indian shares ended modestly higher during the last trading session as a surge in commodity prices helped lift mining stocks and investors remained optimistic about the ongoing earnings season. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 0.3% at 34427.
