Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks turned in a lackluster performance during trading yesterday. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line before closing mixed. While the Dow fell by 0.7 percent to 26120 the Nasadq moved up by 0.2 percent to 9911.

UK stocks rose on Wednesday amid bets that global policymakers will do more in order to support economic activity hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.4 percent to 6268.

On domestic front Indian shares fluctuated before ending modestly lower on Wednesday amid escalating border tensions with China and a spike in coronavirus cases both at home and abroad. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.3 per cent to 33508.
