Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks moved sharply higher over the course of the trading day on Tuesday. With the jump the major averages extended the strong upward move seen in the latter half of last week. Dow jumped 0.9 percent to 27024 and the Nasdaq soared 1.2 percent to 8148.

The UK stocks were subdued on Tuesday and the pound held near recent multimonth highs against the euro and dollar after EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said that securing a Brexit deal at this weeks EU summit will be difficult but still possible. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.1 percent to 7205.

On domestic front Indian shares posted strong gains on Tuesday mirroring firm global cues as investors cheered the prospect of a Brexit deal and positive developments on the trade front. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 0.8 percent to 38507.
