Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
Stocks turned in a lackluster performance for much of the trading day on Friday but moved to the upside late in the session. The lateday advance lifted the major averages to new record closing highs. The Dow up by 0.1 percent to 31458 while the Nasdaq climbed 0.5 percent to 14095.
U.K. stocks rallied on Friday after official data showed the U.K. economy logged its biggest annual fall on record in 2020 with GDP falling 9.9 percent. The benchmark FTSE 100 up 2.52 percent to 6756.
Indian shares posted strong gains on Monday to reach fresh record highs with financials leading the market rally. Indias retail inflation came down further to the lowest in 16 months in January raising hopes that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will continue with its accommodative stance. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1.2% at 52164
