Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks regained some ground over the course of the trading day on Wednesday but remained firmly in negative territory. The major averages all ended the day in the red although the techheavy Nasdaq under performed its counterparts. The Dow Jones fell by 0.5% to 25162 and the Nasdaq tumbled by 1.2% to 7774.

U.K. shares were moving lower on Wednesday after data showed U.K. inflation rose for the first time since November a development that could weigh on consumer spending in the second half of the year. Consumer prices climbed 2.5 percent yearonyear in July as expected but slightly faster than the 2.4 percent increase in June. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.2% to 7593.
