Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US Stocks did not see much followthrough on an initial upward move but remained mostly positive throughout the trading session on Friday. The gains on the day lifted the Nasdaq and the Dow Jones to their best closing levels in over six months. The Dow surged 1.0 percent to 26412 and the Nasdaq edged up 0.5 percent to 7984.

U.K. markets ended higher on Friday as strong earnings reports from major U.S. lenders JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo and optimism over U.S.China trade deal outweighed worries about global growth. Easing worries over Brexit contributed as well to the positive mood in Europe. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.3% to 7437.

On domestic front Indian shares ended a choppy session higher on Friday led by FMCG and auto stocks. With focus remaining on the earnings season as well as macro data out later in the day investors shrugged off weakness in rupee and further uptrend in oil prices.
