Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US Stocks saw considerable volatility late in the trading session on Wednesday but still managed to end the day modestly higher. The gains on the day once again lifted the major averages to their best closing levels in over two months. The Dow climbed 0.5 percent to 25543 and the Nasdaq inched up 0.1 percent to 7420.

U.K. markets opened higher on Wednesday with upbeat earnings updates from the likes of Smurfit Kappa as well as calls for a delay in Britains departure from the EU helping underpin investor sentiment. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.5% to 7165.

On domestic front Indian shares ended lower on Wednesday to extend losses for the fifth consecutive session as a big jump in oil prices and sustained selling by domestic institutional investors (DIIs) and foreign institutional investors overshadowed upbeat readings on inflation and industrial production.
