Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
U.S. stocks closed slightly higher after the release of the Federal Reserve monetary
policy meeting minutes. Gold stocks showed strength with the NYSE Arca Gold Bugs
Index reversing earlier losses to close up 0.45 percent.
UK stocks closed flat for the session as investors waited for the minutes of the US
Federal Reserves monetary policy meeting. Paper and packaging firm Mondi fell by
6.4 percent after the company cut its fullyear guidance. Unilever rose 0.99 percent
after launching the €450m buyback of its Dutch preference shares.
Indian markets moved lower as investors waited for the second quarter earnings as
well as industrial and inflation economic data. The Banking index lost ground during
the session and closed down 0.97 percent. The Oil Gas index was the major gainer for the session and closed up 1.1 percent.
