Indian markets are likely to open positive tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks regained ground over the course of the trading day on Thursday but still closed mostly lower. Reaction to comments from President Donald Trump was the main driver of trading on the day. The Dow slid 0.5 percent to 25828 and the Nasdaq fell 0.4 percent to 7910.

U.K. stocks fell on Thursday as trade worries persisted ahead of crucial U.S.China talks in Washington and several shares went exdividend. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.4 percent at 7239.

On domestic front Indian shares fell notably on Thursday to settle at twomonth lows as concerns surrounding high oil prices uncertainty over the outcome of general election and lingering trade worries clouded the outlook for markets. The benchmark BSE Sensex was ended down by 0.7 percent to 37559.
