Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks moved moderately lower over the course of the trading day on Monday. The major averages slid more firmly into negative territory snapping a threeday winning streak. The Dow soared and Nasdaq fell by 0.4 per cent each to 27910 and 8622 respectively.

The stocks edged lower yesterday as investors awaited key developments this week including the Federal Reserves latest interest rate decision new ECB boss Christine Lagardes first policy meeting and the U.K. general election. The FTSE 100 dipped by 0.1 per cent to 7230.

On domestic front Indian shares finished marginally higher on Monday after trading rangebound earlier in the session. While few stocks like Maruti Suzuki BPCL and HDFC became the gainers IT stocks came under selling pressure. The benchmark BSE Sensex inched up 0.1 per cent to 40487.
