Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks continued to show a lack of direction during trading on Thursday. The major averages once again spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line. The Dow Jones was down by 0.3% to 25509 and the Nasdaq inched up by 0.1% to 7891.

U.K. shares fell on Thursday as a number of companies announced disappointing financial results with travel firm TUI warning that a summer heatwave in northern Europe may dampen holiday demand. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.5% to 7732.

On domestic front Indian shares rose on Thursday to hit fresh record highs as strong corporate earnings results falling oil prices and uninterrupted foreign and domestic fund inflows helped investors shrug off muted cues from global markets. The BSE Sensex was up by 0.4% to 37024.
