Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks showed a lack of direction during trading on Wednesday after trending higher over the past few sessions. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line. The Dow Jones was down by 0.2% to 25583 and the Nasdaq inched up by 0.1% to 7888.

U.K. shares are higher on Wednesday extending gains to a fourth successive session with investors continuing to grab energy stocks despite crude oil prices softening a bit. The benchmark FTSE 100 was up by 0.9% to 7785.

On domestic front Indian shares ended on a buoyant note during the last trading session with investors picking up several top notch stocks including a few index heavyweights on expectations of strong earnings growth. The BSE Sensex was up by 0.6% to 37888.
