History of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), a flagship company under Mahindra Group, started as ‘Mahindra & Mohammed’ in 1945. The company began with a steel trading business, which later diversified into different sectors. In 1948, the company was renamed Mahindra & Mahindra. On June 15, 1955, M&M launched its IPO and was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in 1956 and later listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as well. 

There are more than 2,60,000 employees in the company. M&M has manufacturing facilities in Nashik, Kandivali, Nagpur, Igatpuri, Zaheerabad, Chakan, Rudrapur, Jaipur, Haridwar, Pithampur and Mohali. The company also has a huge global presence in the USA, Canada, Haiti, Mexico, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle East regions.
