About Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corp

Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (DFPCL) is one of the leading producers of fertilisers and industrial chemicals. The company was established in 1979 as an Ammonia manufacturer. The company was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in 1982 after an Initial Public Offering (IPO). In 1985, Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corp Ltd received a letter of intent to manufacture 75,000 tonnes of dilute nitric acid, 33,000 tonnes of concentrated nitric acid and 36,000 tonnes of low-density prilled ammonium nitrate.

The company established a new nitric acid plant with an annual capacity of 1 lakh tonnes at Taloja in Maharashtra in 2000. Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corp Ltd entered into a license agreement and related contracts with Aker Kvaerner Inc., Houston, USA, for the manufacturing of 70,000 MT per annum Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) at the plant at Taloja, Mumbai, in 2004. In 2016, it deployed a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹550 crore. Smartchem Technologies Limited invested  ₹2,200 crore in its Global Scale Technical Ammonium Nitrate Plant in Gopalpur, Odisha in 2022.

In 2021, Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corp Ltd received the Digital Technology Senate Award, which the Indian Express Group organised. The company won the Best Employer Brand Award by the World HRD Congress.

  • Platinum Blasting Services Pty. Limited, Australia: It is a joint venture (JV) between wholly-owned subsidiary Mahadhan AgriTech Ltd. (MAL) and local Australian partners that have vast experience in providing value-added blasting services and operational expertise to mining and explosives industries in Australia.
