Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. Stocks moved sharply lower during trading on Tuesday. The major averages moved lower early in the session and saw further downside as the day progressed. The Dow Jones dipped by 1.6% to 24361 and the Nasdaq ended down by 0.5% to 7397.

U.K. stocks fell sharply as investors weighed political uncertainty in Spain and the prospect of fresh elections in Italy which could serve as a referendum on its euro membership. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 1.3% at 7633.

On domestic front Indian shares fell notably during the last trading session as weak cues from Asia and Europe prompted traders to book some profits after three days of gains. The BSE Sensex closed down by 0.6% at 34949.
