Indian market is expected to open on a flat note tracking the SGX Nifty.
The US markets closed lower on Friday as a strong rally in the dollar stalled a multiday advance for equities. The SP 500 closed 0.2% lower at 2182 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.2% to 18868.
The U.K. index fell by 0.3% on Friday with commodity shares feeling the weight of dollar strength. The pullback follows Thursdays advance of 0.7%. Next week investors will watch for the Conservative governments U.K. budget plans through its Autumn Statement. Thats set to be delivered on Wednesday.
Indian stocks posted their fourth straight weekly decline on Friday and the rupee closed at its lowest in nearly nine months as risk appetite for emerging market assets wanes following Republican Donald Trumps victory in the US presidential race and rising prospects of a US interest rate hike.
