Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

US stocks showed a lack of direction over the course of the trading session. The major averages spent much of the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line.The Dow Jones rose to 0.1% to close at 26186 and the Nasdaq Composite edged down to 0.4% to 7385.

U.K. shares were marginally higher even as Capital Group shares plunged more than a third after the government contractor issued a profit warning for 2018. The FTSE 100 was down by 0.6% to close at 7490.

On domestic front Indian shares fluctuated before closing modestly lower on as investors digested the governments last full budget before the 2019 general election as well as disappointing manufacturing data after Decembers stellar performance. The Sensex ended on a downside front of 0.2% at 35907 while the Nifty ended at 11017 with a downside of 0.1%.
