Indian markets are likely to open in positive note tracking SGX Nifty.
US stocks took small losses on Friday as interest rate hike fears dampened a strong performance for the week. Investors are currently waiting for the Fed Chairwomans comments on August 26 to watch for clues about interest rate actions. Telecom companies reported their worst decline since 2014 with energy and utility stocks losing ground as well.
The European markets ended Fridays session with losses due to a sharp decline in mining and banking stocks. The markets fell during the afternoon session on back of poor economic data from the US. Weak crude oil prices also put pressure on prices of producers. Auto stocks also gave a poor performance after BMWs outlook was downgraded.
