Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2185.30 crore during two trading sessions on Wednesday, 15 February 2012 and Thursday, 16 February 2012.
The net inflow of Rs 2185.30 crore during two trading sessions on 15 February 2012 and 16 February 2012 was a result of gross purchases Rs 7863.80 crore and gross sales Rs 5678.50 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 2186.20 crore into the secondary equity markets in two trading sessions on 15 February 2012 and 16 February 2012, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 7863.80 crore and gross sales Rs 5677.60 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 0.90 crore from the category primary market & others during two trading sessions on Wednesday, 15 February 2012 and Thursday, 16 February 2012.
FIIs have bought shares worth Rs 13867 crore in February 2012 so far (till 16 February 2012). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 10357.70 crore in January 2012.
FIIs have bought shares worth Rs 24224.60 crore in 2012 so far (till 16 February 2012). They had offloaded shares worth a net Rs 2714.20 crore in calendar 2011.
There are a total of 1,780 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
