Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 692.30 crore on Tuesday, 7 February 2012, lower than inflow of Rs 1104.30 crore on Monday, 6 February 2012.
The net inflow of Rs 692.30 crore on 7 February 2012 was a result of gross purchases Rs 2893.40 crore and gross sales Rs 2201.10 crore. There was an inflow of Rs 692.60 crore into the secondary equity markets on 7 February 2012, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 2893.40 crore and gross sales Rs 2200.80 crore. The BSE Sensex had lost 84.86 points, or 0.48% to settle at 17,622.45 on that day, its lowest closing level since 3 February 2012.
There was an outflow of Rs 0.30 crore from the category primary market & others on Tuesday, 7 February 2012.
FIIs have bought shares worth Rs 18000.90 crore in 2012 so far (till 7 February 2012). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 10357.70 crore in January 2012. FIIs had offloaded shares worth a net Rs 2714.20 crore in calendar 2011.
There are a total of 1,775 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi)
