IDBI Bank leads gainers in A group

IDBI Bank vaulted 5.31% to Rs 133.90 on reports it plans to raise capital of Rs 1,500 crore by the end of the current fiscal ending March 2011 to fuel its expansion. It was the biggest gainer in BSEs A group.

Max India surged 5.27% to Rs 163.75 and was the second biggest gainer in A group. The stock rose on high volume of 5.94 lakh shares compared with an average daily volume of 2.51 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

REI Agro jumped 4.58% to Rs 21.70, in a broad-based rally in shares of food processing firms. The scrip was the third biggest gainer in A group. REI Agro is engaged into basmati rice milling.

The stock rose on high volume of 72.05 lakh shares compared with an average daily volume of 16.59 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

Bajaj Holdings & Investment gained 3.99% to Rs 852.25 and was the fourth biggest gainer in A group. The stock rose on a recent solid surge in shares of two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto in which it holds 31.49% stake (as on 30 June 2010).

Opto Circuits (India) advanced 3.35% to Rs 289.75 and was the fifth biggest gainer in A group. The company said on 6 September 2010 that the US Food and Drug Administration has granted its approval for a new modular patient monitoring system eVision 9100 manufactured by Criticare Systems Inc, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Opto Circuits (India).
